Aleph Tav Alert: Nehemiah

NEHEMIAH

(Nechemyah)

The Book of Nehemiah does not specifically name its author, but tradition from both Jewish and Christian sources recognizes Ezra as the author. The name Nehemiah in Hebrew means comforted by Yah. This is based on the fact that the Books of Ezra and Nehemiah were both combined originally as one. The Book of Nehemiah was likely written between 445 and 420 B.C. The book is a historical look at Israel’s return from the 70 year Babylonian captivity and the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem.

Aleph/Tav ALERT: Nehemiah prays and fast and pours his heart out to יהוה Father and reminds Him of the spoken את word He spoke to את Moses in 1:8 Remember, I beseech you, את the word that you commanded את Moses your servant…Nehemiah is speaking about the את word promised to Moses to gather those that are scattered and in 1:9 bring them to the place that I have chosen, to cause את My name to dwell there…for those who 1:11 delight to fear את your name…come back to the land and 2:11 let us build up את wall of Jerusalem…and all the people proclaimed in 5:13 And all the assembly said, Amein and praised את יהוה…and the people gathered to hear Nehemiah read in 8:1-2…Ezra the scribe to bring את Book of the Torah of Moses, which יהוה had commanded את Israel…8:2 And Ezra the priest brought את the Torah before the assembly…8:6  And blessed Ezra את יהוה the great Elohim…8:9 For all the people wept, when they heard את the words of the Torah…then the Levites commanded in 9:5 stand up and bless את יהוה your Elohim from everlasting to everlasting…9:6 You are יהוה even you alone; You have made את heavenand You preserve את them all. The continued diligence and careful placement of each את in this scripture again continues to confirm the combined effort of both את and יהוה Father (Yah-head) working together as ONE in One Spirit (Eph 2:18) with the את House of Judah to return and accomplish the restoration of the temple and Jerusalem.

Also, concerning the את Day of Sabbath in Neh 13:17 Then I contended with את nobles of Judah, and said to them, what evil thing is this that you do, and profane את Day, the Sabbath? 18 Did not your fathers so, and did not bring our Elohim את all הַזֹּאת this evil upon us, and upon הַזֹּאת this city? Yet you bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning את the Sabbath…22 And I commanded the Levites that they should purify themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify את Day, the Sabbath. Placement of את clearly confirms Matt 12:8 For the Son of Man is Adonai of the Sabbath.
