Aleph Tav Alert: 2 Kings

2 KINGS

(Mlakhim Bet)

The Book of 2 Kings does not name its author but tradition has the prophet Jeremiah was the author of both 1 and 2 Kings. The Book of 2 Kings, along with 1 Kings, was likely written between 560 and 540 B.C. and continues the story of the kings over a divided kingdom into two houses, the House of Israel and the House of Judah. The Book concludes with the final destruction and capture of both the land and the people of Israel by Assyria and the survivors being taken to Babylon.

Aleph/Tav ALERT: 2 Kings gets into the story of the prophet Elijah and the mantle he wore had been anointed by את as Kings 2:13-14 states, He took up also את mantle of Elijah…and 2:14 And he took את mantle of Elijah that fell from him…implying the mantle was anointed by Y’shua. Kings 3:11 states, But Jehoshaphat ask is there no prophet of יהוה here that we may inquire of את יהוה by him?…implying that יהוה Father moves through את Y’shua (Yah-head) by His Spirit concerning His prophets…Kings 4:7 states, And he said, go, sell את the oil and pay את your debt…implying the oil was being miraculously multiplied by את and it is He that is making it possible for the debt to be paid which also allowed her sons not to become slaves for the debt to the bondsman and this is also a lesson that יהוה Father can take whatever we have no matter how small and multiply it and cause it to grow and prosper for it is He alone that gives increase by His Spirit…another beautiful example of the working of a prophet with the Yah-head is in Kings 8:8 states, go meet the man of Elohim and inquire of את יהוה by him, saying, shall I recover of this sickness? A perfect example of יהוה Father pronouncing judgment through את Y’shua is in Kings 10:26-28 which states, And they brought forth את pillars that were in the house of Baal and burned them…27 And they broke down את pillar of Baal and broke down את the house of Baal and made it a draught-house (latrine), to this day…28 So destroyed Jehu את Baal out of Israel…implying this is a work of judgment by the Yah-head through את Y’shua.

Now in Kings 10:18 it states, Ahab served את Baal a little…and we see this and ask why would there be an את in front of Baal? I believe if we reject יהוה that Father will turn us over to an idol of some kind to worship whereby He will then judge us for our sin of blasphemy. Isaiah gives us insight into this in Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and CREATE EVIL: I יהוה do all these things. Paul speaks of this in Romans 1:28 since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of G-d, he gave them over to a depraved mind to do what ought not to be done. Now who brought the Israelites out of Egypt? Kings 17:36 states, But את יהוה who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, Him shall you fear…implying both את and יהוה Elohim (Yah-head) delivered the Israelites from bondage and confirmation is again Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report and to whom is the ARM of יהוה revealed? The ARM being את Y’shua and confirmation the ARM is Y’shua is in John 12:38 that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke:  יהוהwho has believed our report? And to whom has the ARM of יהוה been revealed? 2 Kings 17:39 but את יהוה your Elohim (plural) shall you fear…implying the Yah-head is whom we shall fear.
