ESTHER

(Ester)

The Book of Esther does not specifically name its author but popular traditions claim it could have been Mordecai, Ezra or Nehemiah because of their familiarity with the Persian customs and events. The name Ester in Hebrew means star. The book was most likely written between 460 and 350 B.C. to display the providence of Elohim, especially in regard to His chosen people, Israel. The book gives an account of how the institution of the Feast of Purim was initiated and why the obligation of its perpetual observation and celebration. The book is read at the Feast of Purim every year to commemorate the great deliverance of the Jewish nation brought about by Elohim through Esther.

Aleph/Tav ALERT: Esther is also a type and foreshadow of the salvation of את Y’shua our Messiah, for we are told that at the time she is used to save Israel she had neither father or mother, similar to Melchisedic, who is the figure of our King messiah, and she would also be used to miraculously saved את covenant people from annihilation just like Joseph and Moses. I submit that the marriage relationship between את Vashti and King Ahasuerus (Xerxes) was yet another type and foreshadow of Y’shua and His bride the House of Judah who rejected her husband by not coming on the day of His appearing when He called her and thus the King would give 1:19 her royal estate to another that is better than she…and את Esther would then represent the House of Israel coming out of the nations where they had been scattered and being chosen to be elevated to Messiah’s new bride if she would be faithful to the King and 2:17 states, loved the King את Esther above all the women and she obtained favor and kindness in his sight more than all the virgins; so that He set the Royal Crown upon her head and made her Queen instead of Vashti. Verse 2:15 tells us that when Esther came before the King, she required nothing but את.

So, for nearly two thousand years, starting in 70 A.D. the House of Judah had been scattered to the nations and put away and estranged, widowed and blinded in part until “Time of the Gentiles” will be fulfilled and she repents. Haman would represent the false witness in the Kings house who was given the Kings את ring in Esther 3:10 And took the king אֶת־ his ring from his hand and gave it to Haman. Haman was given favor, and authority by the King and he used his royal position to twist the words of the King and to try and destroy את new bride and her offspring, and played right into Father’s hands and in doing so, he only brought ruin and judgment to himself and his whole family. The whole book is a picture of the testing of the bride and how she will also go through the Great Tribulation and only those who are faithful will emerge victorious and become the bride of Y’shua as pictured in the parable of the 10 virgins.
