HAGGAI
(Hagai)
Verse one identifies the author as the Prophet Haggai, whose Hebrew name means Feast. The Prophet Haggi was sent to the Exiles of the House of Judah living in Babylon and was written in approximately 520 B.C. Haggai challenge the people not to be discouraged and to examine their priorities and to glorify Elohim with reverence and with determination to restoration the Temple in spite of any opposition. He also urged them to turn from their sinfulness and to trust in Elohim’s sovereign power to accomplish their goals. The book records the problems they faced at this time and how the people courageously overcame and accomplished their goals in spite of the opposition around them by believing and trusting Elohim would provide for all their needs as long as they strived to be obedient.
