Aleph Tav Alert: 2 Chronicles

2 CHRONICLES

(Divrei-HaYamim Bet)

The Book of 2 Chronicles does not specifically name its author but tradition is that Ezra wrote both 1 and 2 Chronicles. The book was most likely written between 450 and 425 B.C. Both 1 & 2 Chronicles cover mostly the same information as 1 & 2 Samuel and 1 & 2 Kings but focuses more on the priestly aspect of the time period and is essentially an evaluation of the nation’s religious history.

Aleph/Tav ALERT: 2 Chron 2:12 we see the familiar statement repeated in Gen 1:1 which states, blessed be יהוה Elohim of Israel, “that made את heaven ואת the earth”. This exact phrase is repeated throughout the Tanakh no less than eight (8) times starting in Gen 1:1 and another nine (9) times when speaking of את heaven. It is interesting to note that after Solomon dies and Rehoboam becomes king when he counsels with the את older men and rejects their advise he is actually rejecting advise of את as Kings 12:8 states, But he forsook את counsel of the old men…and Chron 10:8 states, and forsook את counsel of the old men which they had given him…but Kings 10:15 explains that this was brought about of Elohim and states, that He might establish יהוה את His word which he spoke by the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat. Talking about the sin of Solomon, which caused Israel to be divided into two houses. Jeroboam would become king of the northern ten tribes. This is repeated in 1 Kings 12.

We find out who is going to occupy the Temple in Chron 3:1 states, Then Solomon began to build את House of יהוה at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah…both יהוה and את (Yah-head) together working as ONE by the power of יהוה Father’s Holy Spirit…confirmation is in Chron 5:14 so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for had filled the glory of יהוה את House of Elohim. Who did our ancestors forsake Chron 7:22 states, And they shall answer, because they forsook את יהוה the Elohim of their fatherstherefore has He brought upon them את all this evil. The order by which the Word is given by יהוה Father through את Y’shua is confirmed in Chron 6:10 states, And has performed יהוה את His word that He spoke…again in Chron 11:4 states, So they obeyed את words of יהוה…again in Chron 11:16 states, seek את יהוה the Elohim of Israel…this confirms what את Y’shua said in John 14:6 states, No one comes to the Father except through Me. The combination of both “את יהוה” are used together over 400 times in the Tanakh in key places in scripture and clearly symbolize the working of the Yah-head together as ONE.

Chron 11:4 So they obeyed את words of יהוה. So what is evil? Chron 12:14 he did that which was evil, because he set not his heart to seek יהוה את. Now here is a perfect picture of the throne room in Chron 18:18 I saw את יהוה sitting upon His throne and all the host of heaven standing on His right hand and on His left. Where does our salvation come from? The same place it always has Chron 20:17 states, stand still and see את salvation of יהוה. When seeking the Yah-head Chron 26:5 and as long as he sought את יהוה, Elohim made him to prosper…beautiful picture…but finally את יהוה brought judgment upon Israel in Chron 36:19 And they burned את House of Elohim, and broke down את wall of Jerusalem…21 to fulfill the word of יהוה by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed את her Sabbaths: for as long as it lay desolate it kept Sabbath, to fulfill threescore and ten years…these key places for the את signifying the judgment of יהוה Father carried out together through את Y’shua the Son (Yah-head) for not observing the את Sabbaths of the land.
